You walk through the door with your head - held - high Your stride keeps pace with the song in your mind But remember everything it sings, remember all the lies Just a tune you've made believe so you would feel alive You wave and say hello as you look into my eyes But when you see me hold your gaze with the hatred I can't hide You slowly turn away and drop your head that's held - so - high And I can't help but laugh about the times I called you mine You try to make me jealous and tell her to come inside And now you're back to walking with your stupid head - held - high But when she sees me look her way, why won't she meet my eyes Is this the girl you left me for, cause of the same thing every night You're standing there just watching me, you see my head - held - high Intimidation is my weapon and I meet you with a smile So tell her that shell be alright, while you walk her through this terror You see the pistol in my hand, she screams, you know she's scared You take her hand and kiss her hard, then tell her that you love her My head - held - high I can't help but smile, cause its not her I'm after The weapon at my side I see your head aint held - so - high Your girlfriends got a death grip on your wrist, I see her crying Its funny how when you walked in your head was held - so - high And now that you can't look at me, I'm finally satisfied January 6th 2009 Emily Shives |
