we had discussions in too brief a momentary
during those afternoons when it was ok
to have just a little more love on our shirts
as they had already been stained by some

imagination without restrictions and desire
that was cherished seemed to be almost the same
but you kept trying to convince myself
that yours might be broken and not that pretty

you had caught me with my kickstand down
leaning my metal against nonchalant
waiting for you to say I could still try anyway
to find out for myself about maybe places

I said I wouldn't just ride off that easy
since my sunsets had all been seen before
and your flaws were more my kind of jewelry
if you wouldn't mind giving them away perhaps

or would you prefer that I just stole them

Yep, you gotta steal 'em.  And then you gotta give 'em back, to make it last.

Poetic justice? Grin, DS, you always gift us with unique and colorful images. I can see you standing there...seemingly 'nonchalant' yet seductively vulnerable.

Yo Dark Stranger,

There's good money in stolen scrap metal.  There always will be.

Some things want to be stolen perhaps! It's a proof of desire.

You play "forbidden" in such a captivating way, dear D.!

D

What can I say?  You have touched something inside and rendered me (almost) speechless.  You do so have a way about you.
