okay, so i'm notoriously hard on my writing, but out of all the poems i've written, i can only think of maybe 10 that actually work. sure, alot of them were experiments with different styles, and some of them were simply emotional purges..but daaaaamn. why didn't anybody tell me how bad i was? i beg anyone who's curious(i dunno why you would be), if you ever must view my archives, limit it to open#30 and up, when i had some sense of what i was doing....arghhhhhh

You SUCK!

I do not happen to believe that, but any time you are feeling especially self deprecating please feel free to read this...if it helps.

ALL poetry has flaws.  It is a human thing.  Get over it and write some more of your special take on life.  Please.

I'll swing in right behind icebox here....

I remember telling you once that some poets are dancers, and some are boxers. There's grace and beauty in each, poise and balance in each, directed strength in each.

You're a boxer, and a damned good one....I'm a dancer. Sometimes I find that very limiting, and I come to you for lessons in how to do that other thing. I sincerely hope you keep giving them.

I like Serenity's reply,

Icebox's comments...

and Ratleader's wisdom.

Me?  Heck, Raph, I'm always questioning my judgment - self-imposed, that is.

But I never question your art.

So there.

the archives are evil . . . and if you didn't think that even one thing you wrote was not perfect, well then, where would be room for constant learning?

I read the crap I posted, it was crap too and My God, I was flitting about . . . you guys amusing me - maybe waiting until one day I made sense.

*laughing here*

and yeah, you do suck Raph, so bad that everyone reads your writing, My God, isnt there someone over there that can smack ya a good one for me?

See?  When I feel like that, I simply smack myself . . .

*grin*

As a matter of fact, ALL the greats thought they sucked.

So there.

I like what Kari said about art.  So very true.

I wish we could self-delete here. I'd barely have even an archival presence were it so. Believe me, I understand the original post, I'd venture that I'd probably run from all but a handful of my attempts at literacy.

well, none of mine are good enough to ARCHIVE
and very little of it makes sense cuz the world doesn't make sense, and therefore I am very readable...and usually right, right, even though I am generally left of the world's  fulcrum balance point ???huh???
never mind
I am going to hang out in the corner and holler

I would think everyone who writes at all has some regrets and some successes. That is life in itself.

Yes DO Not let R Wells delete anything. Let it all stay. And please R. Wells, we miss You. do post soon.
